Just gave it a listen. Dave's vocals definitely suit this style. Album is promising!

This is really good! Drummer from Blur releases brilliant solo album shocker?

Really enjoyed it. Co-written with Gary Go who did one of my favourite songs of all time. If the rest of the album sounds similar I'm really going to be looking forward to it. Go Dave!

Am I right in thinking that Dave never really contributed to the Blur songwriting?
Thought it was mainly Damon with some involvement from Graham?
Odd but impressive that he's actually writing songs now. Best of luck to him!

I'm not sure now, there's some structures and sounds in there that sound very blur like...did he have more influence than we realise or have the other members rubbed off him?

I remember a comment from Damon a few years back that new Blur was difficult because only Damon and Gra were regular musicians / regularly writing. I wonder if this changes things on that front!

…or (like George Harrison) all Dave’s best songs are going to be on his new solo album!

Anyone got a handle on whether Dave started from scratch with this record or whether he's using songs (and perhaps even recordings, in part) from the Ailerons sessions?
