I'm sure it will come pretty soon, there could have been delays with the venues or organisers.Jensen wrote:I really hope we have more information about warm ups this week

Re: The Magic Whip Tour
I bought a ticket for Hyde Park. I know that there will be other warm up shows and probably a very select tour of US shows maybe even a stop here in LA but couldn't help myself. Still not sure if I'm going to use this ticket but when I woke up and there were still tickets available hours after on sale happened I thought why not. Having trekked from LA in 2009 and 2012 I'm sure I'll make my way out there again in June.
Really strange that the last two trips out to the UK for these shows my life was going through some major changes - not always for the best and the shows served as a reset on everything. Really hope that's not the case this time!

Shit! Beck's playing two days before supporting the bloody Strokes. Out of the question. Can't afford another £80 a ticket to see six bands I have no interest in. I'll have to wait for him to do a proper tour. Why couldn't he have supported Blur!

In an ideal world, some bands I'd like to see have seen supporting Blur at Hyde Park:
Jimmy Cliff
Killing Joke (might be too heavy for a Blur gig but listen to KJ's early stuff then play Bugman, Song 2, Death of a Party, I'm Just A Killer For Your Love etc. ).
My Bloody Valentine
Public Image Ltd.
Adam Ant
Reef
Gaz Coombes
Jimmy Cliff

Especially reformed Supergrass - that would do.thespider wrote:In an ideal world, some bands I'd like to see have seen supporting Blur at Hyde Park:

If Supergrass reformed for the Blur gig, I'd spend the rest of the evening on the ceiling! Bloody love that band.

Re: The Magic Whip Tour
I'm debating that one. I'm not much of a Strokes fan, but like some of their things and I certainly would love to see Beck! As Blur didn't sell out, I doubt there's any hurry to get these tickets, so I'll mull over it and see if Beck plays a smaller solo show somewhere while he's over here. He's doing a festival in Ireland and added an extra date, so you never know. Hyde Park is so expensive! And Beck is not even headlining, so paying that price to see him playing for an hour seems steep. But, man, I'm so tempted!aldamasta wrote:God I would love to go see The Strokes and then go right back 2 days later to see Blur!

Re: The Magic Whip Tour
Saw Supergrass on their farewell tour. Fantastic gig, played songs from each album but worked backwards from their most recent to the first album, sensible!
I love the first 3 albums, but went a bit down hill after that.
Dream support acts:
Supergrass
Super Furry Animals
The Horrors!

super furry animals would be ideal considering they are playing some shows this spring.
