Yes, if Themongoose is to be believed, maybe a hypothetical new album was already "written" and/or demo'd, but perhaps they still need to head into the studio to finish it properly - similar to the recording process Damon has described for Cracker Island (taking a number of songs into the studio with Greg Kurstin and finishing them off). Anyhow, don't want to get my hopes up for new Blur - I think the boys have made enough noise about not wanting the band to reunite just to do the hits (I think Damon scoffed at the idea during the Merrie Land promo most recently) that I have hopes they are bringing some new material with them.

By all accounts they have been in the studio for some time, obviously getting tighter again, but I've been told there is new material on the table.
