It really has!
I now have "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Syrus. My work radio plays this song like it was just released!

This... one of those bands I've always loved and have really gotten back into them over the past couple weeks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZuW6BH_Vak" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Louie, I just couldn't get into Heart
Maybe it was the wrong period for them to become big in the UK - i.e. late 80s with overblown power ballads.

Like several bands that hit it big in the mid-late 70s, Heart began with an edgier harder sound, but to survive in the 80s they were forced to sell-out and sound more corporate sounding.... Bands like Journey, REO Speedwagon, Chicago, and Styx (just a name a few) fell prey to that. They had to fit that "MTV Generation" somehow. But Heart initially rocked everyone's socks off!Mallard No. 22 wrote:Louie, I just couldn't get into Heart![]()

Yes, Chicago definitely went down that route, compared to what they had been in the late 60s-70s.
UK artists that 'went MTV' in the later-80s were Genesis and Fleetwood Mac.
You have reminded me with that YT link to 'No Mercy' that The Stranglers stayed closer to their roots, in particular with 'Skin Deep' which came on YT as well via your link. Superb
