Overrated Blur

Post by TripleJay97 » 05 May 2015, 17:54

This might cause a bit of controversy, but are there any Blur songs you don't get the love for?

Mine include:
Death of a Party
Top Man
Repetition

I will manage to think of more, but I'll just post this for now.

It's a good song, I just don't get the massive amounts of love for it. Especially the album version, the 7" version is cooler imo.

People seem to have a special place in their hearts for Battery in your Leg and Ambulance. As much as I love these songs I'd not put them at the top of my Think Tank faves list. (I can appreciate Battery has some graham in it so it's even sadder)

I agree with Death of Party, but also

Sweet Song
Blue Jeans
Inertia
Ghost Ship
Battery in Your Leg

All good, even great, but I find them all a bit overrated.

Ah no fuck the 7" version. :P It's fine but not a patch on the original.

For me:
To the End

For me its arguably the most puzzling of all the ones I find overrated. Its nice and all and I really like it but it seems almost everyone is head over heels to say its the best thing on MLIR. Never!

(Referring to Blue Jeans btw)

death of a party is the big one for me
was always my least favourite on ST

bettlebum is way overrated for me, maybe it suffers because (like tender ) its overlong, maybe i played it to death
i dont hate it but its definitely not one i look fwd to

tender, too long, doenst fit the 13 album really

black book. i never liked this song, like it even less than music is my radar, which is an achievement. this song feels like the moment damon siezed back control of blur from graham

blue jeans - its good but it aint a classic for me, its practically the same song as resigned, which tends to fall into peoples least favourite lists...

shes so high - haha yeah... um... cannot stand it

bugman - its just a revision of movin on, and i prefer william orbits version of movin on to bugman

Couldn't disagree more there. Graham's guitar is amazing on Black Book, the Damonisms balance out perfectly.

Black Book. Never understood the love - I find it pretty long and boring.
