tbh i was working off each gig being 5 hours long, but i guess i could scale it down to 4.5 hours per night and stretch it out to 14 dates per state

i think 504 hours of music isn't too much to ask given how long i've been a fan of this band and how much they still have to give me. i don't care about them or their families or their work/life balance, they need to consider ME.

To be honest if the sets are only going to be 4.5 hours long that perfect because we know Damon likes to work 9-5 days, so if we give the guys 15 minutes for lunch we can probably get at least 3 more albums recorded while they tour Oz. Then they could fly all forum members (with over say 25 posts) over to your house for the most exclusive preview gigs.

I still think they'll just be a couple of warm-up gigs in the 2 weeks leading up to Hyde Park plus maybe a Radio 2/6 Music one around album launch.
Any formal tour won't be announced till after Hyde Park. Standard practice.

I think as forum members, we know that waiting feeling we've had for so so long. We've also had our blummin forum close to convince us it was all over.

So our delight will now last us another 12 years with the album release i'm sure haha
That's so silly getting angry about missing out. Why does anyone feel a sense of entitlement that they should have been there? If I had to hazard a guess though, they are probably relatively young - like you say, haven't waited over a decade for something like this to happen.

I have to keep reminding myself to make sure I savour every last moment of this because who knows what the future holds, it may well be the last time we all have a chance to share a new Blur record. A new Blur record for heaven's sake!!! This time is special.
I'm still in shock <3
But you are right, savour every moment!

I'd agree with this, although I wonder if there will be an actual formal tour. Though it seems strange to not tour the fuck out of their new album in a dozen years, the silence thus far seems rather deafening. Obviously things can change and in a hurry...here's hoping they do!

They were pretty good about keeping this album a secret.
I completely believe that they have more shows lined up but they aren't going to blow their load too early.

They'll announce more shows after the album's release. Maybe not a full fledge tour, but who knows?
This is business and the smart play is to keep people talking and hype the shit out of things while slowly revealing the plan.
Announce album -> tease a single summer festival -> release a single -> wait a month and release a second single and play a small live show -> wait a month and release the album -> post some tour dates -> play the original festival -> PROFIT

I got the impression from the show that this isn't just a "release the album and play a handful of shows" type thing. You can tell that the songs really have a hold on them and they must have known from the reception they got on Friday that we LOVED the music. Watch this space...
