Had this album been released in 1992, I wonder what the singles would have been, beyond 'Popscene'?
Coping for sure, probably Never Clever.

I love the studio version of Popscene as you can guess, but Never Clever studio version is awful, after hearing the live version this slowed down tame one sounded so wrong.

Yea it's sounds like the vocals are from a different song. Doesn't fit.

bit quiet in here init?
Noticed that Sticks and Stones has only 25k plays on Spotify, bit difficult to find the track as there's two versions of the deluxe version on there. Whereas the other less played tracks on the album are around the 500k mark. Feel like they messed it up a little bit, hopefully it can be resolved somewhat and the song gets a bit more recognition

Activity on here seems to have dropped off a cliff this last week or so.
Maybe I'm wrong, I don't use Spotify, but I can't imagine a bonus track ever getting THAT much traction beyond the converted. Does sound like it's a bit buried at present though.

The Rabbi and The Swan have over 400k plays. I dunno, maybe I've just got a bit of empathy towards Sticks and Stones. Just an observation

Ah, fair enough. It's obviously getting a bit overlooked. I can't quite see what others love about it though. It's a nice enough song but bonus track feels right to me.

It's pretty natural. Not much to talk about and the album has been out for a decent amount of time now. And with the news that this site is closing, it's almost like... Why even post anymore? And i'm sure Damon's focus atm is on his new opera and Gorillaz new project. Time flies and it's depressing... Feels like just yesterday the album got announced. But, on a positive note. The Ballad of Darren is a 10/10 imo. I love it more and more with each listen.
I feel like the only one when I say Sticks and Stones isn't that great and i'm glad it's only a bonus track. I don't really get anything from it. It's a mid Graham solo song in my mind.

No tour, no new music. I think we said about Darren everything. What can we add?

Some love for Barbaric
The Britpop crew’s first album in eight years is mostly Blur CliffsNotes — a sprawling 42-minute trip through the best sprightly riffs, grungy alt-rock, and experimental electronic work the band has offered up since their founding in early-’90s Britain. The pop-leaning “Barbaric” takes things a step further. By combining the radio-friendly elements of Gorillaz with the thudding bass lines and tight percussion of Blur — and throwing in one of the catchiest hooks in either catalogue — they successfully bridge the work in the group that made front man Damon Albarn famous in England with the one that made him famous in the States. —A.S.

Most important thing about the new album (at least for me):
My daughter absolutely loves The Narcissist. She sings along to it.... oh, BTW my daughter is 4.
