Blur New album and tour plans

Blur doing a My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive esque album would be brilliant.

They wanted to make a shoe-gaze album with Leisure, but the record company were having none of it.

I’d love a new album next year, gigs are of less interest to me.

New album would be nice. It's been six years since The Magic Whip, nearly seven.

Before Magic Whip came along, I'd be ecstatic at news like this. But the songs on that album were so unmemorable that it showed that there's no guarantee of quality even with Damon's Blur stuff, let alone all his other ventures.
However, I guess Magic Whip was just demos that Damon didn't think were quite good enough, and Graham decided to polish.
If he's deliberately written a batch of proper Blur songs that he's happy with this time, perhaps we can expect a much better album.

Something does seem to be going on, their name seems to be dropping in popular culture all of a sudden. Song 2 was on the mask singer this week and I believe that pulls in quite a following too.

The last few posts going back to 2019 are only to promote releases
