I was listening to this song this evening and I was thinking that this should have been in 13 album. I think it would have been a good opener and a great single. This one and So You.

1- All We Want
2- Tender
3- Bugman
4- Coffee & TV
5- Swamp Song
6- BLUREMI
7- Battle
8- Mellow Song
9- So You
10- Caramel
11- Trimm Trabb
12- No Distance Left To Run
13- Beagle 2

I think I would have enjoyed more this album.

I wouldn't. 13 is perfect the way it is. A bombastic track like All We Want would disrupt the record's balance. Also, how could you prefer Beagle 2 over the majestic Optigan 1? That track is orgasm to my ears.

Optigan 1 is a filler to my ears. It's not a great closer like Lot 105, Commercial Break. It's more in the line of the closer after essex dogs, but at least that one doesn't have a name.

Optigan is rather "outro" than closer. NDLTR is (great) closer.

I agree, the sound just doesn't fit in.

That was so great about Blur, they came up with something completely different for a single. Tender is iconic today, remember its Glastonbury rendition. All We Want is good, I like it, but as single? No.

I agree. It’s a great song, but it doesn’t fit the mood of 13.

Yup, not sounding like something Orbit messed up...its clear nice production.

I shudder to think what Orbit would have done to punky classics like Popscene and Song 2.

look what he did to Movin On, took an already great track and made it even better, don't understand the hate, 13 is a masterpiece, Streety couldn't have done that record

I like William Orbit very much, in the wider sense.

Though I suspect that many feel he stamped his mark too much over the work he did with Blur.

Although this could also be said with any other act he worked with.

I personally have an overall preference for the Stephen Street-produced albums, with '13' and 'Think Tank' being more left-field.

Not hate but he let songs meander and put way too much of his stamp on it, Tender should be a lot shorter, I don't mind his Bugman but that should be more of a remix, the live Bugman is much better and could have been a tight punk song on the album. Movin On the original is much better, his remix sounds and effects are dated and very much of his time and work with Madonna etc, where as Blur's other music is timeless...and yes Street always did it the best.
