Wait, how on earth have I missed this until now? Graham, Matt Bellamy and Miles Kane together? This is huge.

I have listened to a few of the tracks already and just don't really get the attraction. Too many ego's wanting to be centre of attention for my liking, Graham in my opinion is the more talented member of this group, but doesn't come acros like he gets the credit he deserves, but I guess I am biast a little. Much rather Graham devotes his time to a proper solo album.

Credit he deserves... he´s quite heavily featured in posts on social media, and he´s alway mentioned as one of the three main members, along with Bellamy and Kane. And the posts featuring Graham tends to be most popular. It´s just that he´s not vocalist (in this project, so far). As for the "proper solo album", he basically did one, under the moniker of Bloodtwitch for Netflix series. It feels like coherent, songs-based album. Why this album is not heavily discused here, amongs die-hard Blur fans, is beyond my comprehension.

the version of "Reach Out (I'll Be There)" is pretty awesome...great song and their version is pretty cool. I think this is a fun way to bring back some great songs into our consciousness.

OK here's the premise:

The Jaded Hearts Club features frontmen Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets) and Nic Cester (Jet), guitarists Graham Coxon (Blur) and Jamie Davis, Matt Bellamy (Muse) on bass and drummer Sean Payne (The Zutons).

The band formed in 2017 when Davis wanted a Beatles band to play his birthday. “I knew a bunch of 1/2 decent musician friends so I asked if they’d form an early ‘60s Beatles band. Everyone had such a good time that we decided to do it again.”

Their 2nd gig happened when Stella McCartney asked the band to play her fashion show, Playing to an A-list crowd Quincy Jones, Katy Perry, James Corden and Ringo Starr - Paul McCartney then strolled on stage and led the Hearts through I Saw Her Standing There and Helter Skelter! Next they played SXSW; a midnight Chicago gig after a Muse stadium show; at The Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust and London’s 100 Club playing other classic 60s British songs.

Bellamy and Davis started working on an album, with Bellamy producing, focusing on lost Northern Soul classics, supplemented by their raw, soulful takes on some famous standards.

Davis says “We just love the story of how Northern England fell in love with American soul music even after it stopped having hits, and used that music to soundtrack a good night out.”

Adds Bellamy “Like Jazz which reinvents old songs, we are continuing the tradition of how bands like The Beatles & The Stones started out - finding great soul and blues standards and recording them in a more modern style.”

I confess I'm still not sure about this one. They sound like a (really) good pub band - which I suppose is part of the idea.

But I'll probably pre-order the album, which is out in a couple of days, just cos I want to support Graham. Am I mad

edit: OK I won't (pre-order)...
both vinyl and CD are sold out on the band's website

edit edit: ebay to the rescue!
I put me trousers on, have a cup of tea, and think about leaving the house...
