Yet another new Gorillaz album?

Yesterday the Gorillaz hype train has started rolling again.

- here is an interview done by Moonchild Sanelly in late August this year

- a few days ago Moonchild sort of confirmed on Twitter that the new Gorillaz record is almost done:

- there is also this quote from Damon (interview for Huck magazine, July 2019) which might be or might not be relevant:

I just love the adventure of music every day. I mean this week – a week when I haven’t done anything else – I’ve done a tune with Massive Attack, I’ve done a tune with Moonchild, I’ve done a tune with Joan as Policewoman. That’s the way it goes. When I open the shop, anyone can come in – as long as they want to embrace the fundamentals of making music, which are an open spirit and a good ear.

Choo-choo!

there's definitely something going on
the japanese text in the noodle postcard says "is the machine ready?" at the end
they recently changed their avatar to the phase 1 logo

i remember there were a couple phase 1 throwback images that came out before the now now which i don't think ever got used
i think there's going to be a time travel story of some kind to tie in with the 20th anniversary of the group (tomorrow comes today came out in 2000)

Brilliant news. I noticed the social feeds had been springing to life again lately. Presumed it might have just been a Best Of Album in the offing given the time of year.
On the downside guessing another year without a Blur comeback.

Some newer news: a few days ago Damon, Jamie and Remi visited Fatoumata Diawara in Como in Italy (that's where she lives) and according to a local news website they filmed a video to a new Gorillaz song that they had recorded the previous day (maybe just Fatou's vocals I guess? not very reliable source but probably there's some truth in it).
