Two mixes of Maggie May?

I've noticed that the version of Maggie Mae originally included in the 1992 Ruby Trax compilation has a slightly different mix than the version later included in the Chemical World single (and later Blur 21), with extra very Leisure-esq guitars from Graham layered throughout, also sounding slightly less polished.

Anyone else notice this? :0

(Strangely enough, the Girls & Boys single from 1994 included Maggie May as a b-side, yet used the 1992 mix over the 1993 mix)

Huh. I didn't notice the 1992 mix then, I thought it was the same song. I thought the 93 version sounded a little sparse. Which version is on the Special Collectors Edition?

Talking of mix differences, I only recently noticed how different the orchestral parts were on To The End (album version) and its counterpart with Françoise Hardy singing. Not only the ending of the song: the orchestration on the latter is muuuuuch richer, a whole orchestra playing, whereas the former only has a few instruments.

Here's the 1992 mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Oc8jZ2cAqc

The 1993 mix is included in the Modern Life is Rubbish second disc from 2012, so it's pretty easy to find

The 1993 mix is the one included in the Special Collectors Edition, it's where I got my copy of it for the best dynamics haha

Yea I remember that the FH version was a redo, she wasn't singing over the original song.

ikr?? so odd, I never even knew myself until I got the girls and boys single and noticed the mix of maggie may felt different  searched for the 1992 comp and there it was!

on a side note, I've also noticed that digital/streaming copies of Bustin' + Dronin'+ replace the Crouch End Broadway mix of On Your Own with the shortened edit from the 2001 soundtrack 'The Beach', very odd
