Gorillaz / Graham - can't hear him.
What's up with never being able to hear the guest guitar players on Gorillaz live tracks? Watched that live Demon Days thing and although Graham is on stage you can't hear a note. Same with Noel when he played with them... and Mick Jones for that entire Plastic Beach tour.
What's the point?

Actually being there, he sounded great :/ Apparently it wasn't captured on video very well

That sort of eases my worries a bit. God, I hope Graham will come to the states for a show or two with Gorillaz! I wanna be able to actually hear him.TripleJay97 wrote:Actually being there, he sounded great :/ Apparently it wasn't captured on video very well

i think it depends on the song. at least for some songs, Jeff's guitar during the demon dayz stream was pretty clear.

I just watched Submission and it was soooo good live! And you could hear Graham loud and clear! He was getting some fantastic noise at certain parts of the song that made me giddy to see/hear.
And speaking of Jeff's guitar, fuck me it was annoying during Dirty Harry. Did anyone else think so? It nearly ruined the song for me with his just thumping sounds.

He's overstayed his welcome in Damon projects I think.

Yup you can always hear Jeff's guitar and Simon when he played with Gorillaz. But any time there's a guest guitarist they're buried in the mix. Mick, Noel, Graham, Lou,.. I'd also say more than half the time Paul's bass was in audible during the Plastic Beach tour.

Jeff is great. Though I have started noticing the slide guitar stuff since somebody on hear moaned about it. I like the "Noel's guitar is not plugged in" theory
With hindsight "Charger" feels like the song that Graham could have starred on. I bet if that weird little riff had been played by him, the critics would have been calling it an album stand out. Maybe it was played by him?
