Re: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE QUEEN THREAD
Excited about this album. Really hope Damon is back on form.
I’ve found the last two Gorillaz albums to be a bit dull and uninspiring. I would include his solo album in thsat category.

He'll need to take a few years off at some point. He can't carry on working full on forever.MsMagicAmerica wrote:For real?!! I don't know where he gets all of his energy from?stephen wrote:Does this guy ever get burn out

Re: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE QUEEN THREAD
Listening to 6 music today, sounds like Steve Lamacq has heard the album. He sounded like he was very impressed, was suggesting that he thought it was a landmark moment in Damon’s career. Interesting to hear, as he wasn’t a big fan of The Magic Whip but has always been a big Blur supporter.
Fingers crossed!

Wow! That's very exciting! High praise, especially since it's Steve Lamacq.

Ooh, that is encouraging. How did Steve Pacamac express his views on the Magic Whip?
I found the album a huge disappointment and was baffled by the plaudits it received. I think a lot of the acclaim was mainly due to the emotional significance of there simply being a new Blur album (especially for younger fans who had never been around when the band released a new collection of songs). If they do play live again in the future, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't include a single song off it.
Anyway, bring on the new GBQ album. We''re long overdue a consistently great set of Damon songs!
Re: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE QUEEN THREAD
I think you absolutely nailed it. I got into Blur when I was 12, the year they released Think Tank. It obviously wasn't so special then since I was new. The Magic Whip existing in general clouded my judgement of the album; what I now see to be a mediocre LP at best was elevated by my excitement. For sure.Neal Zeal wrote:Daysleeper wrote:Listening to 6 music today, sounds like Steve Lamacq has heard the album. Steve seems like a trustworthy DJ. The antithesis of Zane Lowe. Bring on GBQ 2!

Though I liked the first TGTB&TQ album, and I hope that the upcoming one is good.

It isn't verified but it's official.
There's a fan page on Instagram, created this year.
And that's all (for now).

There's a link to it on Eleven Mgmt website. Facebook started verifying pages in 2013 so probably nobody bothered to do it.tender wrote:sorry but how do you know it´s the official one if it isn´t verified ? just curious
