Damon admitted they'd all got pissed in Manchester the night before so were hung over. That was one of the very few times he spoke to the audience - the rest of the time it was finish one song and straight into another.
It probably wasn't a good time for them, with Graham gone and Damon's mind on his own projects.

I'm going to throw Hyde Park 2012 into the mix here, but not because the band weren't any good. It was the crowd that ruined a lot of the excitement for me. When Blur played Caramel everyone just started talking and that really pissed me off.

Tends to be the problem with so many huge gigs though. It can't all be mega fans so loads of people drift off when it's not the greatest hits.

Yes, that is my experience as well. The 'town hall' gigs are the best.... :)

Yes, that's probably true on the whole. Big enough to generate a real atmosphere, small enough to be a solid, knowledgeable crowd.

No traffic jams and over-priced food either

A pint nearby beforehand, and walk home afterwards.... :D

Thought they were GREAT at this gig. Young and Lovely. There probaby were loads of folk talking furhter back, but that's why you have to shove in as near the fonrt as you can (and I was stilll about 500m back) :D
