I think Think Tank is a fucking great album, and that the only bad song is Crazy Beat. And even it's catchy!
I agree with Lt Pinkerton about Damon and his guitar.

I agree with everything in this post. To be honest, I don't even think Crazy Beat is that bad; OK, so it's bad by Blur's standards, but if a lot of other bands put something like that out, I think it would be looked upon a lot more favourably. And the alternate video is great fun...aldamasta wrote:I think Think Tank is a fucking great album, and that the only bad song is Crazy Beat. And even it's catchy!

Re: unpopular blur opinions
Not strictly Blur related but: Everyday Robots was, is and will always be rubbish and the only reason people here like it is because Damon's name is attached to it.

Re: unpopular blur opinions
Think Tank came out about the same time as Peatbog Faeries' Welcome to Dun Vegas and both of them have strong African experimental influences, which is why they were made by the same band, according to this conspiracy theory.
Re: unpopular blur opinions
I thought Crazy beat was a good song when I heard it first, it was live!
Re: unpopular blur opinions
I do think it was better when performed live - the annoying Donald Duck voice was a lot more toned down live, and the whole thing just sounded less overproduced.murfman04 wrote:I thought Crazy beat was a good song when I heard it first, it was live!
Re: unpopular blur opinions
People are slating Think Tank in this thread only because of Damon's comments on the album. If Damon said it was his favourite Blur album it would be everyone else's as well.

Nah I just rever got into it since it first came out, really missed G's guitar, BIYL was just ok for me.
It just didn't connect with me at all and still doesn't.

Re: unpopular blur opinions
Think Tank will always have a special place in my heart no matter what. Any of the other records could be better musically, lyrically or conceptually, but that will always be a bit higher - and for many people as well. Funny though, because I have no idea why - it is because of the main theme of a record? Because of sound? Because of both? I don't really know or care for that matter - from the moment I heard "Sweet Song" in NDLTR documentary, it clicked - as well as other tracks. Wonderful power of music that is
And I think this is the first time I understood who Tweedz is. Holy moly I knew nothing about this forum! (And this also makes me a feel a bit embarrassed for the Damon comment)

Or at least if he's only going to use four strings, he should place them in the middle and not all at the top. It's bad for the neck.Lt Pinkerton wrote:That's what the thread is about, though. Oh, here's another one: Damon should really get a regular six-strings guitar and learn how to play it.
