Yes, I really like that new transition they've been doing from Spaceman into Trimm Trabb.

I absolutely loved the visuals for Ong Ong. The stage set as a whole, with the massive screens, was absolutely brilliant when it was properly made use of.thespider wrote:I wish the sun had set. The visuals would have looked so much better.

Ha! Yeah, that bit was funny

contradictions
"we are playing hyde park again cos we got a new album"
they played the exact same set from the last 3 hyde park shows and sneaked in 5 songs from the new album and they didnt even play pyongyang or there are too many of us
wasnt really impressed, the album was meh but i still wanted to hear a lot of those songs live

Re: contradictions
Pleased to hear your opinions are still worthy of their own threads rather than part of others like the Hyde Park thread.

Re: contradictions
This should be in the Hyde park thread.

Hi Mark!Mark72 wrote:I'm going in via the west entrance around 1ish, So hopefully We'll get a good view of the stage! Can't bloody wait!!
I saw you in Hyde Park after Metronomy did their show. You were 7-8 meters behind where I was, but it was hard for me to say hello from the 2nd row.

Blimey!! So close! There were quite a few people there! It was great at the front, but I certainly felt it afterwards!JAIME wrote:Hi Mark!Mark72 wrote:I'm going in via the west entrance around 1ish, So hopefully We'll get a good view of the stage! Can't bloody wait!!

Yeah, the sound was excellent.thespider wrote:The gig was brilliant and definitely better than Hyde Park 2012. The crowd was noticably smaller which made it more enjoyable for me. Less crowds is always a good thing, up to a point. The sound was much better and clearly being able to play new, fresh material galvanized the band. Ong Ong is up there with their very best festival sing a longs.
Support bands: Drenge were good. Didn't like Metronomy myself, boring. The Horrors were worth watching and Kitty Davis and Lewis were good....and nice to look at
Jupiter & Okwess International were the best support band imo, but I enjoyed The Horrors and Metronomy too. Drenge not too much really.
The highlights for me were:
Go Out
Lonesome Street
Badhead
Out Of Time
Beetlebum
Trimm Trabb (I touched Damon twice haha

He Thought Of Cars
Trouble In The Message Centre
Tender
Parklife (with Phil Daniels)
Ong Ong
To The End
This Is A Low
Stereotypes
Girls & Boys
For Tomorrow
The Universal
Obviously I wanted to listen to Pyongyang and Mirrorball, but I knew it would not going to happen that day.
