Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, 20 June
it definitely wasn't them!! I was near the front and it was obvious from where I was that it wasn't them. bit annoying that digital spy didn't check that before they wrote the review but whatever, I can understand why it might be hard to tell the difference from further away seeing as they were in costume

Not them. Graham had back problems, said before the gig he couldn't put his shoes on. Can't see him bouncing around like that if true.

Yeah I'm quite a big Metronomy fan but I thought they were a little disappointing. Sound was kinda muddy and like some of you have said didn't really have much of a stage presence, although at least the bass player was giving it a go.

I did love Graham's face and reaction to Damon's thanks for getting the record put together towards the end of the gig.

I asked the same question on twitter, but watching the footage back it's obviously not them. Doh!miko wrote:Mark72 wrote:Another positive review. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/revie ... Meanwhile, Damon continues the dairy theme and conceals himself in a giant 99 while Alex emerges in a comically large red ensemble. It's homage to their recent video game-inspired 'Ong Ong' music video

I thought they were boring as hell. Their set seemed to go on forever and ever!101reykjavik wrote:Talking of Metronomy, what did people think of them? Maybe it's just not for me, but thought they were very underwhelming. From where I was standing they seemed a little out of their depth really. Nothing much grabbed me. Total lack of stage presence with thingy stuck behind his keyboard constantly.
Unfair comparison I know, but when Damon came on it just showed how the real deal musicans OWN a stage from the off.
Drenge were crap too I thought, every song sounded exactly the same and the bass drum was so high in the mix it was painful

Jupiter and Okwess were ok but not as good as Songhoy Blues were at Damon's RAH gig. It was raining like a bitch most of the time they were on stage so that didn't help.
The Horrors were good, wish they could have played a longer set. I love Still LIfe.

True. I was hoping we might get the 'Hello Moon!' thing again from Damon, but alas, we couldn't see the bloody Moon.
