I bought my tickets full price for £80 during pre-sale and tbh, the price didn't shock me. It is a shame that there aren't more bands/another stage during the day. Last year we went to see Sabbath (which was amazing) and they had loads of bands on in different tents etc, so it was more of a festival. They even had big names play during the day last year like Motorhead, Faith No More and Soundgarden. Surprised its not like that this year.

Overall, not fussed about the ticket price, have always wanted to see Blur anyway.

On another note, the weathers going to be awful. Ponchos at the ready!
Can either huddle and try and keep dry, or just embrace the downpour and drowned rat look and dance your arse off :D

Let's hope the forecast turns out to be wrong. It's such a glorious day here, looking out the window now, it seems hard to believe it'll be that bad tomorrow, but if it pisses down so be it. I'll be sure we're carrying something waterproof!

Looking at the Met Office it looks a slight improvement from this morning atleast.

The odd shower is fine just would rather it not rain heavily.

Had no intention of going tomorrow but just been offered a couple of free tickets. Can't turn down a freebie. So will head there for 6 and grab a decent pitch.

Went to the Strokes last night and thought they (and Beck) were fantastic tbh, was close to Stage on left and enjoyed the set, thought thought they should have finished on New York City Cops tbh. Where I was the crowd were fine apart from one shoulder sitter right at the beginning, who when asked to get down but lots of people behind her, gave everyone the finger, not sure she thought that through and let's just say she didn't stay up there for very long after that......didn't see any trouble other than that, some quite pissed and annoying lads came and stood in front of me during Beck (clearly just waiting to get to front for the Strokes) taking selfies etc they talked through some of the songs but quickly shut up when I asked them to

In terms of the 'premium view' thing, it cut off almost half of the area in front of the stage but looking I don't think it exists in the same way for Blur as the other shows (Swift even has a diamond view area!), but there is a much smaller 'superior standing' area. As Tom said, there were no searches going in which surprised me as they had searches last year and metal detectors on some of the channels in last time Blur played (though might have been due to Olympics I guess). They have got rid of the stupid indoor stages they had at BST last year and replaced with small outdoor ones, so if there are other bands you want to see you should actually be able to watch them(!).

One other thing, the Strokes were scheduled to play from 8.45pm - 10.15pm, Blur are scheduled for 7.55pm - 10.15pm so it's a pretty mammoth slot.

RE: other bands Drenge are fantastic and also have a bit love for Teleman (some members formerly Pete and the Pirates), though unfortunately the 2 clash

It's Teleman for me. Drenge, what I've heard of them, don't really do it for me.

Different strokes and all that.....Cristina is a great song saw them at Field Day last year and have seen P&tP a few times over the years, really wish they weren't clashing!

I know hardly any of the other bands playing, so I am having a lucky dip entirely based on the synopses....

Sugarmen (purely because it says Mick Jones produced them  )
The Horrors
Fufanu
Jupiter & Okwess International
Metronomy or the bar
Roots Manuva
Blur

Alex says there will absolutely be the magic whip icecream at Hyde park tomorrow yet I asked the company yesterday and they said no, they were unable to because of other big name companies being there instead

Man, I'm excited. Hoping there isn't heavy rain but frankly I'm staying in a hotel right near Hyde Park anyway so I can dry off there!

I like Metronomy. They never really outdid the Nights Out album but they've still got some good tunes.

Just dug out my vintage Parklife T-shirt from '94. Well its a long tradition.
Seems to have shrunk again since I last wore it for the 2012 dates ;)
Hopefully I'll be propped up against the barrier at the front this time tomorrow night.
