Couldn't make '09 and but was at the '12 gig,I was hoping maybe a two or three nights at the Ally Pally or Finsbury Park too, but I guess Hyde Park is a better option for the band..johnol wrote:Yeah as much as I loved 09 and 12 at Hyde park part of me wishes it was at another venue. Finsbury Park would be ideal I reckon. Wembley would be my biggest nightmare!!!!

Wembley would be very convenient for me, but no way I'd rather that than Hyde Park.johnol wrote:Yeah as much as I loved 09 and 12 at Hyde park part of me wishes it was at another venue. Finsbury Park would be ideal I reckon. Wembley would be my biggest nightmare!!!!

Ally Pally is terrible. Massive aircraft hangar. Soulless place. Finsbury Park is a good shout.
Think that's why sales are down at Hyde Park, as they have played there too many times. Need to mix it up. With the sound been shit, it's really put people off.

Considering it's their 3rd/4th time playing there in 6 years, 40k isn't that bad really.

I consider myself a hardcore Blur fan (how wanky does that sound
) and I'm swerving Hyde Park this time. I know loads of equally hardcore Blurries who aren't bothering this time. It's shit isn't it. Too big, too impersonal, full of knobheads and the sound is rubbish.

Really! the gigs I've been to there over the years including the infamous Showtime gig in '94 had great atmosphere, mind you I haven't been there in years and I do see things with rose tinted glasses.Wippet wrote:Ally Pally is terrible. Sound at Hyde Park has been drastically improved since the repositioned the stage for the BST festivals.
I can't speak for every section of the Park but from where I have been as far as outdoor gigs go it was a vast improvement to when previous festivals have been held there.

I don't mind that it isn't a sell out. Might be easier to get a (massively overpriced) beer.

Also means it'll be v easy to pick up a cheap ticket (under £50) off Gumtree later next week.JackS wrote:I don't mind that it isn't a sell out. Might be easier to get a (massively overpriced) beer.

They've done small venues for their tour.Sean wrote:I consider myself a hardcore Blur fan (how wanky does that sound) and I'm swerving Hyde Park this time. I'd much rather small venues such as Wolverhampton, Blackpool and Glasgow culminating in the massive Hyde Park than them doing a bunch of arenas.

Sorry to be a downer but it's looking like a miserable cloudy day....johnol wrote:Whatever crowd there is I will be in my element watching the band I love in the sunshiiiiinnnnneeee

UK weather forecasts aren't usually very accurate 24 hours away let alone an entire week!JackS wrote:Sorry to be a downer but it's looking like a miserable cloudy day....johnol wrote:Whatever crowd there is I will be in my element watching the band I love in the sunshiiiiinnnnneeee![]()
