He said Graham took over because Damon had a sore throat IIRC.CrossWires wrote:Why is it bullshit that he has got a shore throat? It was my first thought as soon as they started playing it. Lots of gigs last few days playing 20 odd songs. That takes its toll. Where is this 2 songs info coming from? Nobody played 2 songs in the past on TFI.

So every time you've seen the band play Coffee & TV your first thought is "oh, Damon has a sore throat"?CrossWires wrote:Why is it bullshit that he has got a shore throat? No of course not but why play it otherwise? They have played a lot of gigs recently and have Isle Of Wight coming up. Rather than pull out they play a song Graham can sing. Makes sense no?
Re: Blur on TFI Friday special on 12th June
I like to think they picked it because 1) it's a great song and 2) everyone knows it. Plus it's a nice break from Parklife/For Tomorrow/This Is A Low. It's definitely a highlight at every single show they've played since writing it, it sounded great in Wolverhampton last Saturday.
This has to be the first time they've played Coffee & TV on TV since 1999, no?

I don't see why Chris Evans would lie about Damon having a sore throat? I know he's a bit of a dick but...

It's a screen, not a real window. They played the Skype thing from Australia in it earlier.Leahscarlet2 wrote:Thought it was live..whys it light outside?

Don't get me wrong it sounded great and I know the program is a nostalgia thing but I'm sure they would want to play a new song to promote the album.

I guess so. I think it was just speculation on our part that there might be two songs. That's it I think. Really enjoying it though.

C&T was a very pleasant surprise. Anything from PL/TGE would of been dumb. and yes, the end was great. Long live the gospel backing!
