Let's see what the community thinks. Right now for me it's a solid 9/10, but it could jump higher, so I've left the option open to change your vote.

Likewise, 9. Firmly one of Blur's best albums.

9 out of 10.

Not a single duffer, every song is worthwhile and every song is a good one. It's not completely perfect - very few albums are - but it's a fantastic record of real depth with some spine-tinglingly great moments. A definite 9/10.

That "elasticaman" won't like this one bit, and he'll be along soon to tell us all it is he and he alone who has the balls to "tell it like it is". To call a spade a spade. We all need to accept we are merely a bunch of sheep with no mind of our own. LOL.

8/10 great to have the lads back...back in early Feb most of us felt the chance of this happening was nearly 0, what a great surprise!

On another point not heard much from Mr Magpie, hope he's ok...

I'm being cautious and giving it an eight. I really do rate all the songs though, nothing I don't look forward to hearing or which feels like filler, so it may turn into a nine. Just want to give it time to bed in further.

I'm giving it a 9 on the basis that it feels like old friends coming together and reminiscing over their past without dwelling in nostalgia whilst advancing their sound yet again. I love how Blur find new ways to grow their sound but managing to sound like Blur at the same time - it's remarkable.

Something worth reminding folks is that this album wasn't made in the conventional Blur way - it was cobbled together in Hong Kong in a matter of days - the strength of that output is testament to the songwriting and craftsmanship of the band who simply fail to make a bad record. I really hope they have a successful number one with this album (which I think they will) and this spurs them on to make more Blur records in future - who knows what the next Blur record would sound like if they went in with the intention of making a record?

8/10. Placing the weaker tracks ("New World Towers", "Go Out") in the beginning is never a good idea, but they're redeemed by the Ghost Ship/Pyongyang explosion near the end.

On a side note, the phrase "magic whip" pops up in Ice Cream Man and Ghost Ship. This is not the only connection between these two songs.

Gave it an 8, but at times it feels more like a 9. Ah 8 is probably how I'll view it a few months/years down the road.

He's fine, busy busy at work. Spoke to him a few hours ago. I know he deliberately stayed clear of the Blur section in recent weeks with the iTunes stream being released etc. :P
