Yep, what a great performance of Ong Ong. I must admit I was sceptical, but that was somehow better than Mode. I think perhaps Damon's singing was a little better / more measured. Less shouty and in your face more maybe? I guess, 1. Mode was very intimate and Damon would have been really connecting with the crowd and going hell for leather. And 2. I suppose they are learning more all the time how to play these songs - have to remember how new they all still are. Whatever it was, thought this went really well.

Jimmy Fallon meant Blur and that 2003 one was a Lur performance.

just to be clear & pedantic its only 14 and a half years (not the over 15 years jimmy claimed) since blur were on Conan Obrien as a 4 piece playing Music Is My Radar & Song 2

Am I the only one who thinks Damon was a bit nervous? You could hear it in his voice and see it in his face, at least in the beginning.

yes! His voice was definitely a little shaky and I thought it was weird he never looked straight ahead towards the camera. America does strange things to that man...

Yep I thought so too. It's very easy to tell when Damon's nervous.

Only in Blur, apparently...he's like a different person when performing with Gorillaz or solo over here...very strange.

Probably because of past experience and how they never made it successfully back at the beginning in America. Also, the touring they had to do over there for all that time to earn back all the money

Which is funny, 'cause I think of Ong Ong and Mr. Tembo as being in the same ballpark of "dead simple, hooky pop song."

I thought the performance was a good one, and the band seemed in high spirits.

Fallon did a good job of being enthusiastic about the band, but then again he's enthusiastic about everyone.
