I don't think Pyongyang would be a good idea, it would inevitably derail in politics conversations, when in fact the song isn't about that but about what feelings Damon felt being over there.

I think they should go with spaceman, ghost ship, I broadcast or Go out which is pretty solid live

Lonesome Street is essentially seen as the single, so it will likely be that, and since its a very blur sounding song and has a lot of familiar sounds in it, it seems the most sensible... the album really has no HIT, but LS is as close as it comes

Are people forgetting about Ong Ong? I feel like that's got potential to be a hit here in the states.

I'd go with that or Go Out.

I tend to think Lonesome Street and Ong Ong are a little too "Britpoppy" for US audiences. That is, they presume a familiarity with Blur's previous output, which most Americans won't have.

Lonesome Street in particular gets a lot out of trading on the sounds of Blur's Britpop heyday (not that that's all it does - I think it's a great song in its own right).

Even Ong Ong with its "la la la"s would be strange for a US audience, I think. We're not used to "la la la"s in our songs!

Definitely think a moodier song would work, "Go Out" might be a good choice.

I believe "I Broadcast:" and "Go Out" are safe bets!

they should play:

1) a real loud, thrashy version of I Broadcast.
2) Pyongyang
3) The Universal

I don't feel like a live version of Lonesome Street or Go Out is the best way to introduce millions of people to Blur.

they should just play whatever song they want and be blur. no matter what a number of people won't like them

which is when blur were selling big stateside, which is ehy it makes the most sense to me

The obvious choice: Lonesome Street
The ideal choice (imo): I Broadcast
My preferred choice: Pyongyang
The impossible choice because the song is doomed live: Ice Cream Man

My money was on 'Ice Cream Man', probably a little accelerated and bolstered by a bit of chugging guitar. Seems to tick all boxes for me, even if they felt they balls'd it up at MODE.

They didn't mess it up at MODE, not sure why people are convinced they did.

Yep I heard your recording and it was probably my favourite after the first listen. Sounded great. And Graham's guitar was much more prominent.

Being from the states, I predict Lonesome Street.

Mirrorball is a great, brooding track. I could see that actually. Might be a good choice.
