Ghost Ship
Pyongyang
There Are Too Many of Us

Those 3 songs together is my favourite sequence of songs on any Blur album, ever.

Have to say, Spaceman isn't doing it for me at the minute. Might take a few more listens.

Look at the results so far. Nice spread. Not one song totally neglected. It's such a strong set of songs.

A lot of votes are bound to change over time, though, I reckon.

Less than 12 hours from my first listen, so the order is definetely going to change:

1. Mirrorball
2. Ong Ong
3. Ice Cream Man
4. My Terracotta Heart
5. I Broadcast
6. Thought I Was A Spaceman
7. Go Out
8. Pyongyang
9. Ghost Ship
10. There Are Too Many Of Us
11. Lonesome Street
12. New World Towers

As a matter of fact I started to like Lonesome Street by now. A position at the end doenst mean that the song isnt any good, its just that there are even better ones.

Do you guys think New World Towers, Spaceman and Pyongyang suffer a bit from overproduction?

To my mind, no. Like Pyongyang and Thought I Was A Spaceman studio-versions more than live. The problem with New World Towers is, for me, that I think it doesnet really fit between Lonesome Street and Go Out. And yes, I liked the live version of that song more. It was building up some atmosphere the more the song progressed. I somehow miss that feeling in NWT on the record. But well, I have just listened to it last night for the first time.

spaceman sounds pretty much exactly like i thought it would
save for that hiss whenever the acoustic track is present

For me:

Lonesome Street, Go Out, TATMOU -> already heard before MODE, no expectations there
Ice Cream Man, Ghost Ship -> never heard before, again no expectations
I Broadcast, My Terracotta Heart, Ong Ong, Mirrorball -> as good if not better than live
New World Towers, Spaceman, Pyongyang -> so far prefer the live versions, especially the first and last

I'd say Spaceman is underproduced, actually

Anyway, I voted for Ice Cream Man, Ghost Ship and Terracotta.

My thoughts are similar to Rubi's but I'd switch Spaceman and I Broadcast.

I voted for the three I'd have more urge to replay since I've got them:

Pyongyang
Ice Cream Man
I Broadcast

Next two would be Thought I was a Spaceman and My Terracotta Heart

I think we're kind of neglecting now Go Out, Lonesome Street and TATMOU because we've been familiar with them for a while, so the time will really give them their actual place on the album.

Go Out and TATMOU are firmly in my favourites for the album as a whole. Can't get enough of them.

On overproduction: it's a no for me. Pyongyang in particular on the album is perfection imo!

I had to give one of my votes to Lonesome Street.
It's got such a great construction, probably the best single since Beetlebum in that regard.
