Yeah what I was thinking, having seen that you would think there is no depth to the album. I really like I broadcast, but Ong Ong is throw away filler. Damon should show more restraint when it comes to going 'populist'!

It might work in the context of the album but on its own it sounds weak. As others have said in time it could become their latest Country house or crazy beat.
Tuesday show constraints? Had to open with a banger (okay, I Broadcast gets the nod). Then, oh, you've got max. three minutes to close the show and end on a high. Okay - Ong Ong it is.

these two song aren't really representative of the album are they?
Exactly. Should have played at least one of the slower songs.
Chill, chill. This was just the appetizer. Introducing something easily digestible to prep the audience for the more complex flavors of the main course.
Killer tracks and killer performance.

Could be right. I just think its a shame that they didn't showcase the depth to the album. If the only other song we get on Friday is Lonesome Street then they will have just played all of the lightweight songs.

i was about to say - and from a blank Magic Whip canvas, Mirrorball would be one of my picks. It's fucking great.

The band can't really win though can they.

Would they end a TV show with Mirrorball though? Too low key? Just wondering.

People who hate them will hate them no matter what they play. Trust me, I know a few

I Broadcast is a great song and it made for a great opening. Ong Ong is fun, but the set definitely needed something weightier to balance things out and end on a grander note, one that gave a better flavour of what's on the album. Hopefully that will happen on Friday.

I don't think it is low key - I think it's all grand and epic, a great way to close an album or a show.
