01. The Universal
02. He Thought of Cars
03. Best Days
04. Stereotypes
05. Entertain Me

First four tracks were easy to pick. Last one I wasn't too sure, but I went with groovy Entertain Me. That bass line is amazing.

I went for:

1. He Thought Of Cars
2. The Universal
3. Best Days

then it got tougher...

4. Yuko and Hiro (I know most people don't like it but I think it's a wonderfully downbeat and sad end to what is on the face of it a pretty cartoony album. Yes, I know the lyrics are dark).
5. It Could Be You (Aforementioned cartoon content! It may very well be, but I can't help finding it catchy as hell, can I?) :D

Yuko & Hiro is very lovely indeed, and underrated. I just wish the track didn't end with that goofy rendition of Ernold Same.

1. The Universal - the album's centrepiece, and potentially Blur's best song
2. Best Days - I love the imagery in this song, the last train pulling out of Cannon Street over the river towards Kent, as the Bow Bells ring
3. It Could Be You - Love the riff, catchy, fun, grabbed me the second I first heard it and would love to see it live (as unlikely as it is)
4. Stereotypes - Similar to the above
5. Fade Away - Finding it hard to articulate just why I rate this one, but I do. 8-)

The vinyl reissue doesn't. Same deal with the self titled vinyl reissue. No interlude at the end.

The Universal

I remember thinking Topman was a completely bizarre song for them to resurrect for the Think Tank gigs. Really odd.

The Great Escape is a funny one for me. It has some of my favourite and least favourite (Ernold Same, Top Man) Blur songs on it. I do find that overall, the songs compliment each other and it works better as an album than individual songs.

I love that part and always wait for it to come

How glad (and surprised) I am that TOPMAN is getting votes!

My least favourite Blur album. I can't think of five songs to list. The first two I truly love, among my favourite Blur songs, but the rest... meh.

1. The Universal
2. He Thought of Cars
3. You & Hiro
4. Best Days
5. ...

I don't get the love for Charmless Man. A truly charmless song :x

I really think The Magic Whip could be the album TGE should have been.
