This was tough (next round will be tougher)

1. For Tomorrow (prefer the VTPH version)
2. Chemical World
3. Blue Jeans
4. Coping (Partridges is probably better song, what an interesting Album That Never Was it'd of been - I also love his Sunday Sunday)
5. Colin Zeal

a shame Starshaped & Resigned didn't make the list, they were close to

Three clear winners this time around: For Tomorrow, Blue Jeans and Chemical World. I wasn't expecting the latter to get so many votes.

For me it's such a personal record. bought it in August '93 right after seeing them play the festival and that was the start of a journey of blur fan ship to this day! I listen to it more than any other blur album (prob far too much :D ) Great memories of the times,People and getting rather drunk in camden in the summer of '94.
Love all the Tracks, but the top 5 for me are

For tomorrow
Resigned
Colin Zeal
Blue Jeans
Vila rosie

I hope someone from the band management (or even tweedo) stumbles upon this thread and realizes how much the fans love Blue Jeans and we want it for the live gigs this summer! :P

I don't really mind Turn It Up. Sure, the lyrics don't really mean anything, but I think it's a nice catchy pop song; probably would have fitted quite well onto Leisure. I really like the 'anything you do...' bit.

Being my 2nd favourite, it was HARD to choose this time, and honestly if you ask me tomorrow I may've changed my mind.

Right now these are mine:

Colin Zeal
Blue Jeans
Oily Water
Miss America
Coping

But seriously I love the ENTIRE album. Turn it up is a bit "meh", but I still listen to it anyway ;)

It's a fine song, but it's the only one on Modern Life that stands out as being less than brilliant.

That's exactly it. Musically - good, great riff, etc - lyrics (particularly the opening minute) leave a lot to be desired. In the context of excellent lyrics like Mr. Zeal checking his watch and being pleased with himself and the ode to London that is For Tomorrow, it sticks out as being completely unfinished and stuck on there for the sake of having a pop song.
