A bit late with my review, maybe....?
But anyway, I've been playing 'The Magic Whip' in the car. And keeping it on in rotation. It is as you would expect it to be from middle-aged musicians.
It doesn't give the buzz that 'Parklife' did. But equally, it is a pleasant listen, with the quirky use of instruments that epitomises Damon Albarn (& I suppose the band as a whole).
Whether it would attract new fans to the band (or member's other projects) I am more hesitant about.
But it is infinitely better than listening to Radio 2
