I visited home last week and got to show it off to my best mate, a guy who never understood why i loved Blur so much over the years until I showed hime Glasto 09 recording, he couldn't believe how good they sounded live.
He's a casual fan that hadn't heard any of the new stuff at all so I showed him the Mode gig first.
He sat quietly and by the middle of NWT he was amazed, I said it gets better :P
By MTH he was just in love with it and said the world need more music like this right now.
It was great to sit down and see it with someone that didn't know what to expect whatsoever :D

that is great !

I´ve tried to convince my non Blur fans about how good they are but I haven´t tried with live footage , good strategy
Great!! You're not gonna get far with the 3 new official vids :D

So a guy I went to school with asked me to write music reviews and things like that on his website. Here's my first offering: A review of The Magic Whip! :)

Nice one, although I can't say I agree with your view on Pyongyang and Mirrorball. They're two of the album's highlights for me.

Ha ha virtually no one around here would agree with me on those two points, but sure each to their own! :)

A bit late with my review, maybe....?

But anyway, I've been playing 'The Magic Whip' in the car. And keeping it on in rotation. It is as you would expect it to be from middle-aged musicians.

It doesn't give the buzz that 'Parklife' did. But equally, it is a pleasant listen, with the quirky use of instruments that epitomises Damon Albarn (& I suppose the band as a whole).

Whether it would attract new fans to the band (or member's other projects) I am more hesitant about.

But it is infinitely better than listening to Radio 2 :P

Regarding the attracting new fans thing, I've been playing the album out loud during my breaks at school and four of my friends have bought the CD because of it! Talk about doing my bit as a fan :D

On Thursday, I had a mini-breakthrough in showing two friends the Ong-Ong video. They didn't really care the song as much the video but I left feeling proud anyway
