Yeah, i miss the good old days, when Blur had big budget music videos and seemed genuinly enthusiastic about doing them.

...and a big budget is not required just film the lads playing to the song, not a problem we would have all enjoyed that, I pads, Vhs, Betamax whatever!

It's the band's decision whether to appear in a video as well as whether it is flashy or low budget etc. Saying the video is shit & lazy isn't likely to suddenly sway them.
It's ok to consider videos and other promotional things to be bollocks and a waste of time, especially if they'd rather be focusing on rehearsing or they simply feel that a fancy video would be distracting and want the music to be the focus.

I feel like we need another 'I like it' comment in here just to balance the opinions again. I like it. :)

God, some comments on youtube kinda freak me out. Things like "They just ruined my fav song". I hope the person saying that is just a drama queen. How exactly could a video ruin a song? Especially if it's your "fav song". If the song is good, it can't be ruined (unless it's covered by Justin Bieber but that's another story).

I'd be a liar if I said I didn't give a shit to videos. I do. There are some I love and that I like to watch again from time to time, and others I just put on a back shelf and never bothered to go back to.

But at the end of the day, all those songs were intended for my ears and my heart, not for my eyes. If there's a nice video to go with them, it's a bonus. If not, who cares?

If you really like Lonesome street but dislike the vid, no big deal. In twenty years, you'll still remember its tune, its lyrics, possibly the way you felt the first time you heard it, or you'll associate it with personal memories and that will either hurt or make you smile fondly, but you will have long forgotten that dancing guy.

You should watch it Graham, it's good fun. As I've already said, I wasn't sure how I felt after the first viewing, but it stuck in my head. Really enjoyed it on repeat viewings.

Do you ever watch any of your own solo videos? I really loved the concept behind "What It'll Take" and "Ooh Yeh Yeh" was very ace! Your other videos are equally impressive as well!

There's this official artwork for the single, so maybe we'll get a 7" single... I remember Chris Evans said (last Monday with Alex on the show) that the single is released on the same day as The Magic Whip.
Very strange to release the single same day as the album, it should be released now so it get's airplay as a single with video etc...
Looks like it's a radio-only single and won't be released physically/digitally:

No word about the release date on the promo sticker (only "impact date" which I guess is the date when the label expects the song to hit its airplay peak).

That's a real shame. I'd love a physical single. Still, it might have had dancing guy on the front. ;)

Me too, man. Me too. I had to upgrade from hardcore lurker to actual poster.... but it's worth it to say ME TOO. Not sure where all the hate is coming from.

I was never outraged...I just think it's a dumb video is all. Still love the song, though.
