Have to say, headphones take this song up a level for me, Alex's bass sounds fantastic!

It is a Blur song through & through, the sort that would have sat well on their 90s albums.

Though it is a bit of a plodder. Hope it grows on me. :)

It's great. Listened to it about 15 times in the first few days of its release. I've been avoiding it since, because I don't wanna be sick of it by the time the album comes out.

I've probably listened to Go Out about a dozen times now. Trying not to over do it. Go Out made me feel like revisiting the other 'recent' Blur singles and I've come to the conclusion that Go Out is my favourite. If I had to rank them at the moment it would be:

1. Go Out
2. Fool's Day
3. The Puritan (close between 2 and 3, could swap them on another day)
4. Under The Westway - shock, horror! UTW last. They are all very close, but sadly it's last.

The production on UTW kills it for me. When you listen to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkkeu8FwBzo from Radio 4's Front Row of just Damon and piano there's something much more pretty and beguiling about it. It's beautiful and delicate like Lennon's Imagine or something but it doesn't fully translate in the studio version.

Every time I listen to this song I love it more, it's a real grower also for me.
The bass line.....goooo Alex!!
Great guitar part and lazy Damon on vocals....love it!
I think live will be fantastic: I want absolutely see them this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Erm, 3,5/5? Not one of their best singles but definitely a grower. Alex and Graham totally kill it, although Damon's voice isn't buying it for me. That laziness and absent-mindedness in his voice worked in Think Tank and Gorillaz, but I'm not sure about it on tracks like Go Out.

I have heard it several times on 6Music now.

It is proving more listenable with each hearing, and consistent with their previous work.

Yep, I only hear 6Music when I'm getting ready for work in the mornings, but they've played it a few times that I've heard now. Great start to the day. :D
