Not quite. I've always said I prefer the structure of this version, and the middle section is gorgeous. It's just a shame that Billy boy seemed to get it into his head that autotune and a rag bag of wacky effects were the order of the day. Totally spoils an interesting alternative to the released version.

The day it was leaked was indeed completely bizarre. Like others, at the time I just couldn't even make my mind up to start with if it was even real, or some kind of wind-up, so bad are the vocal effects.

Agreed, it's a much more fully formed and better arranged song than the dirge-like final version. But that autotune is ghastly and the absolute absence of Alex and Dave on it is atrocious. That was indeed such a bizarre day...Orbit went off the rails that week. I'm just glad I saved that version on my hard drive before it got pulled down off the net...I still listen to it every now and then just to throw my ears a curveball.

No I like it, especially the change in the middle. I view it as just another remix. I still don't hear this autotune you all mention, it sounds like a whole different vocal take to me, more rough.

Damon's vocal is slathered with autotune, especially in the first half of the song. Close your eyes and you can almost imagine you're listening to Kanye "singing"

I love Kanye though. Mind you, his latest few songs are questionable.

I have to say I am really loving GO Out more and more the more I hear it. Musically it sounds so fresh, not 100% convinced by Damon's vocals on it, but it definitely excites me for the rest of the album.

I'm hoping the vocals and lyrics on it are the exceptions to the lazy/stream of consciousness/gibberish style he's used in Blur since 13. Even if it isn't, I'm still amped up like crazy for the album!

I put me trousers on, have a cup of tea, and think about leaving the house...

Yeah, I agree, I find the songs with the nonsense lyrics harder to love and sometimes they just outright stop me liking the song, not always though. Think tank was particularly dire for the most part lyrically. It bugged me because his lyrics with Gorillaz and The good the bad and queen were much better.

Nonsense lyrics can work very well if they're paired with a good melody.

They work even better when they're real words, Damon.
