You know that noise that plays at the very start of Lonesome Street? I was thinking to myself over the weekend, "I wonder what that is? Maybe it's supposed to be the crack of the Magic Whip?"

Then just now listening to Ice Cream Man, after Damon says, "With a swish of his Magic Whip, all the people in the party froze" the sound plays again, subtly in the background. Very perceptive, me. ;) 8-)
Awesome Mud! Is it hidden anywhere else?
Something like this can be heard in the announcement videos (like this - https://www.facebook.com/blur/videos/10 ... permPage=1). Noticed the noise in the songs as well, just a little touch which makes the album a little bit more interesting ;)
RIP Mr. Okay (April 2015 - March 2016)

Anyone else notice under the CD tray (a la Kid A and Pinkerton) there is a dotty star thing? I'm not sure if this is artwork we already knew about but still.

Also, the booklet is full of interesting stuff, like little doodles. I'd love to know if any of it means anything or if its just random doodles. There's crossed out lyrics (a la The Sky is Too High) and random little word messages (a la The Great Escape and Think Tank). Also the obi strip says 'Stereo' on it which is a little quirk I like. It was hardly going to be mono!

Not that I've noticed yet, but I was very pleased with myself noticing that one and guessing what the sound at the start meant correctly! :)

Will be the first current music I have bought for some time.
I was working at K-mart back then, I think I bought mine there. Props to a fellow old school fan!

It does bug me a little bit. Like does Damon seriously still write all of his lyrics with a typewriter?? If not then all the scribbles and stuff have been put on for show.
Also, i know I shouldn't be annoyed but it is a shame that only the lyrics for like 4 songs are on there in full and you have to squint to see them. Still nice design though. As you say, quite similar to the think tank special edition

Nerd fact:

The octogan on the back of the CD is a Fu Xi "Earlier Heaven" Bagua arrangement. :geek:

Fans of Lost will have seen something similar before. :)

well yeah, but surely it's more directly from the firework box? Damon mentions getting them in Iceland at Christmas...

It might not be a star hidden under the tray then but a firework.

The octogan is the EXACT same dimensions as the iron-on Dharma Initiative patch I never got round to pimping up my pyjamas with.
