Ha - the Today programme on Radio 4 just used Liam Gallagher's tweet about Lonesome Street as a starting point for a discussion about whether tribalism was declining in music!

I've got to make a playlist for someone,of blur songs, as they're coming with me to hyde park next month and they're not really familiar with blur. Can anyone give me any songs in particular I should put in the playlist?

I'd say the 'best of' made up from the recent polls would be a good starting place.

Midlife is an excellent starting place. The only glaring omission that I can remember is There's No Other Way.

I'm not sure why it's taken me so long, but I've just listened to The Puritan and Under the Westway for the first time..

:o I am shocked. I know it sounds bad, but I never took a listen to them because I thought they'd just be filler type tracks..not any good. But, they're amazing and now I wish I hadn't waited so long. I hope blur do another unexpected rooftop show, preferably down my road

For the first time?!

I really liked them at the time, but I think that's been put into perspective by the quality of the songs on TMW.

Totally agree. All three are solid tracks but TMW in hindsight feels like their real return.

I saw this tweet earlier:
@orla_barry: What happened Mali's musicians after the Jihadist attacks-The Green Room @NewstalkFM at 9 @damonalbarn @songhoyblues

A radio show and it mentioned damon albarn in it, I don't know if it's live or anything? Probably not, probably doesn't include him directly either but I thought I'd post anyway if anyone was interested

I really love Under the Westway, is simple but amazing, maybe one of their best songs ever.

Blur/damon & Graham played Great X-pectations Festival 1993 playing For Tomorrow and Chemical World acoustically. I can only find For Tomorrow footage on YouTube..does the Chemical World footage not exist?
