By all accounts they got to Chicago with a few days to spare, entered Chess studios and cut an album tentatively entitled 'Modern Rubbish Is Life' - thus inadvertently kick-starting what we know today as 'recycling'. But in those days they were a bit behind the curve, even their own, and the tapes were 'mislaid' in one of the tour's many drunken episodes...

It never occurred to me until today just how Stereolabby some of the 13 B-sides are

Coffee and TV got awarded a silver disc in the UK last week (200,000 copies sold). That puts it on the same level of sales as Girls and Boys, Parklife, The Universal and Beetlebum.

Also, the Gorillaz album "G-Sides" got a silver certificate (60,000 copies sold).
