Listening to some of Humanz right now for the first time in months, and I need to apologise to everyone here. I was wrong. It's not as great as I originally thought. I mean, yes, there are a number of songs which I still enjoy but as a body of work it just doesn't cut the mustard compared to previous albums. Or maybe it's just that the album isn't as enjoyable to listen to now as it was when it came out. I don't get the same feeling I did back in April. It got old QUICK, unlike Demon Days which sounds as fantastic now as it did 12 years ago. Same with Gorillaz. Same, to an extent, with Plastic Beach.

Sleeping Powder though remains excellent. The most Gorillaz sounding track from this phase and it wasn't even on the album. Rockit 2.0 sound wise.

Yeah I must admit it hasn't invited much replay value. I've barely played any of it since it was released.

Humanz is still amazing to me. I re-listened last weekend with a hangover on a sunny day on my deck, biting the hair of the dog. it sounded better than ever  8-)

but i'm a big s/t fan these days.

Thanks for sharing. I hope a full version comes out at some point, could be interesting and more "Gorillaz" than the official version.

Very much looking forward to it. I feel like the Super Deluxe is going to have a wealth of interesting material... now if we can just get it to release! Agh!

Jehnny beth interviews Damon Albarn. Really good interview if you are sick of the same old "So you wrote this about the Trump election" bullshit. just Damon being Damon

Really no need to apologise! :) The album was always a let down for me, which is never a nice thing to say, especially around these parts as it sounds like you’re being a downer on it. Humanz just doesn’t have the tunes to grab me. I’m sure it works for others, but it’s the weakest of the albums in my humble opinion. I know this is being silly, but even the Z in the name struck me as a little naff, a little obvious. Sorry Damon! (Not that he cares, haha). Agreed on Sleeping Powder though. Could have been on the album easily.
