Have to say the new batch of remixes has helped.I wonder if we'll get remixes of the whole album? That would be immense. 5 days to go...lol

britpopunionblur wrote:Question. Were most people on this forum underwhelmed when Plastic Beach came out? Did some of you think it was a Masterpiece or very good originally and only later got worse because of HUMANZ? Just asking cause I see a lot of people on here writing this is his best album since Demon Days. For any of you what are you rating for projects that came after. TGTBTQ, Plastic Beach, Everyday Robots, The Magic Whip, (even throw in Rocket Juice in the Moon). Including HUMANZ order from best to worst.

Plastic Beach
The Magic Whip (hard putting this at Number 2)
TGTBTQ/HUMANZ (not sure which is better)
Everyday Robots
Rocket Juice and The Moon
at the moment

1.Humanz/Plastic Beach
2.The Magic Whip/ TGTBTQ
3.The Fall
4.Everyday Robots
5.Rocket Juice and The Moon

I really liked Plastic Beach when it first came out, listened to the vinyl nonstop... Still think it's a masterpiece. Demon Days is better though, in my opinion. But I swap those 2 all the time for best album of all time, so. Usually depending on the season lol.
Humanz has a lot to live up to but it is almsot there. If I like it this much after 2 days of it being leaked/heard. It will only get better over time. Like most of Damon's albums do

In the end I really like the new album but don't love it. Find it more a good collection of songs then a great ALBUM. Little disappointed overall but it's still decent to good material. Not sure how much i'll come back to it. There is some killer tracks in heavy rotation

My picks for his best work since Demon Days would be TMW, followed by either GBQ or Plastic Beach and then this.

I don't consider this top-tier Damon but he's made some of my all time favorite records so..

Carnival is probably weakest song but it's still pretty good

That's basically my view. PB and TMW are interchangeable for different reasons

According to Wikipedia, The Apprentice (with Rag'n'Bone Man) was released today as a single. I can't find it on iTunes or YouTube though. Anyone have a link?

Just pre-ordered the 2CD deluxe edition, $15 on Amazon. Nice. I was hoping to pick it up at a music store but having moved to America last week I'm not sure where my nearest store is! God I can't wait to listen to this album in the car. I think it's going to be a really good driving album, Strobelite in particular.
