Did Damon do all the instruments for the gorillaz debut?

No. Dan Left Hand did some of the bass, Kid Koala did the scratching, Dave did the drums on Punk, I'm sure that's not all..

And I happened to be writing a post regarding possible collaborators so here that is:

I'm sure that the song with Adele will be nice.
Like I already mentioned, Kendrick would be huge.
I've always wanted to see Beck and Damon in a white rap duet.
Outkast. Just imagine the return of Gorillaz featuring the return of Outkast, holy crap.
Pharrell. I think I remember hearing they were working on stuff during the Plastic Beach tour..
Other rappers who would be cool off the top of my head include Busdriver, Talib Kweli, Aesop Rock and Slug.

I'd like St Vincent. I saw her and she is wonderfully weird (and plays amazing)
Pharrell, a time ago I'd have loved it, but now after hearing happy 200.000 times I can't stand him anymore :P

He's talented, I'm pretty sure his style would mesh with Damon's well and he's had some ridiculously huge songs the past couple years.

All of these things point toward him being a great candidate for the lead single!

I think a St. Vincent/Gorillaz collab is magic waiting to happen.

I'd like to see Paul McCartney on a Gorillaz album. And I agree with Tom, I'd like some more guitar.

Agreed, especially given his Africa Express appearance recently.
