Blur are dead

Post by Dan Abnormal » 29 Jul 2014, 19:29

Reading Damon's NME-statement today (http://www.nme.com/news/blur--2/78846), I have to confirm something I have said before: Blur are dead! Today they only do commercially successful things and try to sell their old stuff to "all the people" who already own that stuff again and again (take the digital edition of "Live at the Budokan" as an example). Mediocre stuff like "Under the Westway" etc. can only be considered as a kind of advertisement for selling the old stuff. They were on their height with "13", they could have gone on, but they did not. Instead, they are annoying everybody with their back catalogue. It is so sad, I am so disappointed, it is so embarrassing...

Few days before that interview, he said "I'm sure one day I will" ( http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-suffolk-28422512 ).

...so the moral is "Don't believe everything Damon says". ;)

Well to be fair when this thread was created Blur WERE dead. Nothing was happening, at least not publicly. All the signs pointed to the band calling it a day after their last tour.
