How do you think the album will fare in UK albums chart (or other charts, like Billboard 200)? Just for reminder and comparison, here are his major album UK positions in last 10 years or so: Plastic Beach 2, Everyday Robots 2, The Magic Whip 1, Humanz 2, The Now Now 5, Merrie Land 31, Song Machine 2.

I'd hope Top 10. I see he's just announced 3 instore album launch shows that go onsale tomorrow but its the usual London-centric venues.

I guess looking at that, he knows what he needs to do if he wants another number 1.....

Taylor swift is re-releasing Red on the same day so I think it will go to number 2

I think Abba will be holding onto that top spot for a while, at least until Adele.

Chart positions depend massively on what else is out. Some weeks 10,000 will get you to #1. Other weeks, 100,000 won't.
Be interesting to know how many he manages to sell.
I'm not feeling much pre-album excitement for this one. The last single didn't hang around on the 6 Music playlist for long.
The last album had the 'first solo album' hype that this one won't either.
Don't know what Robots sold in week 1, maybe 20,000 or so, but guessing this one will be quite a lot less unless one of the songs gets a lot of airplay from Radio X and 6 music in the coming weeks.

Bugger - I'm losing my touch :(
I've failed to get a ticket for the Rough Trade East gig on 12 November - forgot that the tickets went on sale this morning at 10...
Pryzm in Kingston has sold out, and Totnes in Devon - pretty much a (2nd) hometown gig for Damon :) - has sold out too...

Anyone get a ticket for these pre-shows?

...because these things are always pretty special :( :)
I put me trousers on, have a cup of tea, and think about leaving the house...

I'm just annoyed that there's never been any shows or events in the Midlands regarding the two solo albums. Never did any dates for Everyday Robots, and now nothing for this. I don't mind travelling but it just seems to be always centred around London constantly.

I attempted to buy tickets to Rough Trade at 10am pretty much exactly and was directed straight to a waiting list… so I guess that was a quick seller!

No wait apparently that waiting list was all part of the fun and now I have a Rough Trade ticket for basically the price of the deluxe edition + postage from the official store. Even if it's just two or three songs that seems a bargain.

it's at 7pm on the same day (Thurs 11 November) - an earlier show slotted in...

Made me so happy you hear Damon loves Willie Nelson. I adore Willie Nelson. I was shocked that was his choice of a past artist on Jools Holland.

I flew to Oklahoma from Australia on my honeymoon to see Willie.

Check out Stardust - Great record.

Loving the new Damon songs too.

Ah, I hadn't seen the interview part of that episode. For anyone who didn't see it, Damon was asked who he wanted to be when he was younger.

His answers are pretty impeccable, if mostly unsurprising - Adam Ant, David Bowie, Terry Hall, Shaun Ryder, Ray Charles.

Just seen my first review of the new album.
It's in Mojo and the heading is Fjord Focus (hehe!).
Gets 4/5 stars which I think is a legal requirement for everything Damon does!
Worryingly, it says something like it's not as 'melodically inviting' as Everyday Robots. Uh-oh!
