Nine Inch Nails

Post by TripleJay97 » 28 Jul 2015, 21:42

...AND WE DON'T HAVE A THREAD FOR THIS, WHYYY?

The industrial metal band. Haven't released a bad album to date. One of my favourite bands of all time.

Saw 'em live last year, one of the best shows I've ever been to, honest to god.

And now THIS:

WHY DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS

The word "metal" is an immediate turn off. With hip-hop probably the genre I really really can't stand lol

I'm guessing it's a picture from their most recent tour? I recognise that rendition of the logo :)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Every album is so different and has different highlights! Sometimes it's a Ghosts kind of day, sometimes I'm feeling the 80's cheese of PHM :D

I went for The Fragile because that was my first NIN record and I associate a lot of my finer memories with it.

Trent is an absolute genius, everything that he's done is pretty much perfect imo! Picking a favourite album is hard since they're all awesome, but The Fragile would probably be it. So many amazing songs on that, I think it's one of the few double albums where there are no weak songs. Even the instrumentals like Complication, Pilgrimage, etc are really, really cool!

Also, Pretty Hate Machine is fantastic! So many underrated songs on that record.

Yeah, Pretty Hate Machine doesn't get enough credit. There's some incredible vocal performances on that record.

Exactly..maybe i would have to choose PHM cause "Terrible lie" was the first song that i heard form NIN, and since then i became a huge hardcore fan (18 years had passed since then)

have to think about it..

Yeah, I agree! Trent is a master of delivering vocals that are full of intensity and real emotion. Nobody else could pull off something like Happiness in Slavery or The Great Below the way he does.
