I ended up seeing them in both London and Birmingham. I failed to offload the Birmingham tickets and London was so good I thought "sod it, I could do that twice."

Re: The Bluetones Thread
That is a good way to do it Foggy.
You got a return on your investment - no two shows are the same.

Re: The Bluetones Thread
That album came out as Britpop faded, but The Bluetones remained on form.
The lead single reached the top ten.
And Newcastle Mayfair was a great venue.

I'm off to the o2 in Oxford tomorrow night to watch them perform Expecting To Fly album 20 years of release. I'll post a couple of photos soon of the gig

Re: The Bluetones Thread
Please do! God, I love this band. Wish they'd play some club gigs here in the US!

Sadly I couldn't go due to work. But managed to give the ticket to my friend who'll hopefully take a couple of photos. Oxford 02 Facebook page will put them up soon too. And I'll post the link.

Re: The Bluetones Thread
I saw them at Milton Keynes a couple of weeks ago, it was a cracking little venue, essentially a back room in a pub.
It was damn hot in there, and there was a hiccup when Adam's amp blew up and tripped the whole stage off, but they were in fine form. I didn't take any pics worthy of sharing, but one of their loon fans has followed them everywhere and blogged it, here, if anyone's interested:

My calendar had every gig within a hundred miles of here scribbled on it, but I only went the once this time.

I didn't realise how funny he was. I know it's a thread about music, but you've got to respect a man with the wit to write this review of Kula Shaker's tea towel.MrMagpie wrote: Fact is, Devlin is a hell of a guitarist

His review of Jodie Marsh's Keeping It real is gold too.

Yeah, his Twitter feed is usually a riot, too...pretty vulgar but almost always a laugh. It only got serious when his brother was murdered last year...it was tough to see him going through that, but the amount of fan support he got on there from me and others was something to see.Foggy wrote:I didn't realise how funny he was.
