LA Girlz and DYWGH are highlights, that's for sure.
I'd have to spin it a few more times to make a complete top five..

I've spun it plenty times.

1. Summer Elaine & Drunk Dori
2. King of the World
3. L.A. Girlz
4. Wind in Our Sails
5. California Kids
6. Do You Wanna Get High
7. Jacked Up
8. (Girl We Got a) Good Thing
9. Endless Bummer
10. Thank God For Girls

Jesus fuck, that was really difficult. I feel really bad putting TGFG at the very bottom, because I really do enjoy that song, but I feel like the other tracks shine so much, I can't really put them below it. There isn't a bad song here, at all.

I finally listened to the "White Album" and color me BEYOND impressed....It actually captures a late 60s - early 70s Beach Boys era vibe to it!

Regarding previously popular songs, how does everyone feel about both either "Hash Pipe" and or "Dope Nose"?

Hash Pipe is solid. Don't really get the sumo wrestlers but still.

Hash Pipe is great
Keep Fishin' is almost as great
Dope Noise is alright

Y'know, for all the cries about Weezer playing it safe for the Green Album, the fact they returned after their post-Pinkerton break with a somewhat dark song about drugs, with drugs in the name, with the refrain "come on and kick me" means I often play down that notion in my head, fairly or unfairly. And er, they only did the same thing for Maladroit. It was with Beverly Hills as a lead single that "safe" Weezer begins with me (which isn't the same as mediocre Weezer, btw, despite the overlap).

Yeah, I'm not Hash Pipe's biggest fan but it'd be absurd to say that song's safe. Not even taking the lyrics into account but musically it's a huge departure from their 90s sound. I don't mind Dope Nose but I never find myself actively listening to it. Keep Fishin' is kinda bland but the chorus is great and it's probably the best song on Maladroit not called Burndt Jamb.

I like how Hash Pipe starts with a line taken straight from You Can't Do That.

It's been two weeks now and I think it's safe to say that TWA is Weezer's third best record.

I'd say so, yeah. White doesn't have any clunkers while there are some on EWBAITE (Shack being the most obvious, and I think the verses on Eulogy are terribly boring as well) and only British comes close to the perfection of L.A. Girlz, DYWGH, etc. And then you've got Jacked Up, which might be the best pop experiment they've ever done. EWBAITE is a strong 8/10 and TWA is closer to being a 9 imo.

Yeah, I agree. Songs like Lonely Girl, Eulogy and Da Vinci pull it down a bit.

Thank God for Girls is great!

I'd love to know why some people hate TGFG. I think it's way more clever than what its title and chorus suggest.
