Fleetwood Mac - "For Your Love" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIsbjmveDSo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

An excellent cover featuring a very underrated and the late Bob Welch on lead-vocals and guitar.....

Louie - that is an intriguing cover. Obviously with a fuller-type 70s sound, rather than the infectious, but twee-sounding, harpsichord of The Yardbirds original.

I wouldn't like to say that either version was better, but both versions were right for their time. Graham Gouldman will have been pleased.

This came from what is probably the most underrated Fleetwood Mac album from their complete catalog and the 2nd of 2 featuring Bob Welch and Bob Weston (who played lead-guitar, but cheated w/Mick Fleetwood's then wife which was why he was dismissed from the band). In fact, this was the 2nd to last album before Buckingham and Nicks joined two years later. This was when they completely transitioned from their distinct Blues roots started by Peter Green and essentially ended when Danny Kirwan departed a couple albums earlier.

Right now I'm listening to from the same album:

Fleetwood Mac - "Believe Me" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5usZPMjEg0k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; featuring Christine McVie on vocals and here's a live performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuXmDW1FO7I" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was after Green, and prior to Buckingham & Nicks, but the sound to my ears is more akin to 'Rumours'.

I must admit that period of Fleetwood Mac has passed me by. But people on this board have been positive about it.

They had no original album success in the years 1971-75 in the UK, though in North America their popularity was steadily rising.

Welch was the first American to join Fleetwood Mac and he was very instrumental between when Green and Spencer left in '70 and '71 respectively and when Kirwan left in '72. In fact, Welch and Kirwan recorded two albums together, "Future Games" and "Bare Trees". "Future Games" is rather experimental. Welch was a member from '71-'74 and again as I mentioned kept them afloat until Nicks and Buckingham joined in '74. Welch left and unfortunately never received his due, IE wasn't inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame w/the rest of them. Also, the five of the more successful commercial line-up contributed earlier during Welch's post FM solo career.

"Fleetwood Mac" self-titled was released in 1975 and a collection of hits, but "Rumours" was when they really took off obviously.... I love this "Fleetwood Mac" track:
