I heard anew song by Paul called "Get Enough". I don't know if it was on a special edition of Egypt Station or not, but I just found it. Dear God he's using auto tune!! Why Paul why?? I think it sums up why I don't like his new album, he's trying waaaaay too hard to be relevant and modern. Link to the song:

Is it he's trying to impress his own grandchildren? Do I recall correctly that even Damon is trying to attract more modern artists on his most recent Gorillaz albums that he's trying to impress Missy and her friends? Perhaps Paul is falling into that same trap believing he has to force himself to stay relevant when we obviously know completely otherwise.... I hope he soon realizes that himself!

I don’t know what his deal is, but it’s sucking. He has a new children’s book coming out soon called “Hey Grandude”

Yeah, "Get Enough" dropped a few weeks ago and it's embarrassingly bad. Egypt Station isn't great, but it's not terrible...but this song. My God...

I couldn't get past the auto tune. A friend of mine said the middle bit of the song is good, but I can't stand auto tune so much that I won't make it to the middle of the song.

Speaking of Egypt Station, what are everyone's favorite songs from it. It has some duds on it, but there are some good songs on it. For me I really like Despite Repeated Warnings, I Don't Know and Dominoes. I know everyone's favorite is obviously Fuh You :)

The ones you mentioned are all good but shockingly for a Paul album, I haven't found Egypt Station to be all that memorable. Maybe I need to really hammer it into my brain and just overload on it, but nothing from it has stuck with me despite repeated listenings (see what I did there? :D )

Ha I saw what you did there!

And I agree, for a Paul album it’s not memorable at all. I listened to it when it first came out but then stopped because it was getting boring (plus I was going to see Gorillaz in concert) but I haven’t listened to it since. I’ll give it another try again, but I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be boring again.

I cannot wait for this! https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... ilbx8-P7gs

This to me (besides "Carnival of Light) is the Beatles ultimate holy grail. I know before they resisted (especially Paul) to release any of additional footage based on how gloom and doom that period was, but it's already been 50-years for him to come to terms. True, we know the outcome but obviously anything of this magnitude is well worth it!

...and Peter Jackson is surprisingly upbeat about the studio vibe too - dispelling the gloom & doom apparently :)

thanks for posting King LL :) :)

haha.... No problem! :D

I actually predicted this quite a few times and I am glad it's finally becoming reality. How many times have you heard the audio outtakes/demos and you hear the film director in the background shouting out slate whatever?

You're welcome! :D I feel that "doom and gloom" was dramatized some. True, it was the beginning of the end (some believe that goes far back to when Brian Epstein died or during the "White Album" sessions), but you can tell they all four still loved each other and even what was captured in the actual finished movie confirmed that considerably. Even that altercation between Paul and George they were still civil towards each other (true they knew they were being filmed) but it was just a matter of time it had to come to some climatic/definitive ending of the band. I also cannot wait for the 50th Anniversary re-issue which I hope again includes "River Rhine Sessions" and the rooftop concert in its entirety (hard to believe today marks that 50th anniversary)!

Jesus Fucking Christ. What was he thinking with the autotune?? Also the middle section that is actually pretty good starts at 1:58.

It's been extremely silent/dormant here as of late.. I hope this injects some excitement in this thread at least:

I hope more of this is unearthed in the future!

Yes I know that the 16/06/66 TOTP is considered a 'Beatles Holy Grail', because it was the only time they performed live in the TOTP studio. But it is a mere 11 seconds of silent cine camera footage.

I don't doubt the significance of it, but I find the other recently discovered footage just as interesting, including the (b&w) 'Something' promo, and also e.g. TOTP performances by Fleetwood Mac and Jethro Tull.

Even the promo of Nancy Sinatra's 'Highway Song' (a track recorded in the UK with Mickie Most and his regular musicians) will be interesting to see.
