See What Goes On is my least favorite Beatles song. I’m just surprised that he stopped so low with having the “Fuh” create a controversy. Like he should be above trying to get peoples attention for “raunchy “ songs. And I’m not a prude or anything. But he’s a 76 year old man singing about sex. It’s not like he’s in his 20s or 30s. And it’s a terrible song! The lyrics are bad and the melody is boring.

The electronic beats (?) and the synthesizer-press-kit background vocals are very annoying. The other single, Come One To Me, sounds more solid to me, so I hope that he will at least make the sound of the whole LP more like on New a few years ago. This was an acceptable record.

Any news on the White Album 50th anniversary box set?

What do people want to see on it? For me, one of the best things to emerge in recent years was the 'Peter Sellars' extended version of Sexy Sadie - much better than the original, and in pretty good quality too.

Haven't heard anything about a 50th anniversary White Album. I think if it was happening it would have been announced by now. Then again, who knows.

Really? Giles hinted strongly last year, after the Pepper thing. And Paul confirmed it recently in his Egypt Station promo interviews...

I personally would want to hear the Esher demos in all its entirety in better quality. That's essentially it with a package that includes everything from the "Mad Day Out" photo session...

The White Album was released on the 22nd of November 1968. Perhaps they plan on dropping something then? Complete and remastered Esher demos would be very nice indeed! To be honest, any more material including alternate takes from the album sessions would be most welcome. I'd particularly like to hear more of Not Guilty. I think we only have one version of that so far, released on the Anthology. There must have been different takes?

Yes there was several more outtakes of "Not Guilty"... Also, maybe "Sour Milk Sea", "Circles" and "Child of Nature, etc demos as well (those are the 3 they just popped onto the top of my head at the moment of posting this)..... I know it obviously wasn't on the "White Album", but perhaps "Hey Jude" demos, especially the earlier version in which George's guitar I guess was more prominent. More "What's The New Mary Jane?" would be quite fascinating!

I still hope they something elaborate for "Let It Be" 50th anniversary, but highly unlikely.....

Paul McCartney's new album, Egypt Station - anyone tempted?

It's picking up some great reviews.
I haven't thought much of the three songs I've heard so far though. Bit lacking in chorus melodies.
Not a big Beatles or PMC fan but still might be tempted.
Last song of his I really liked was My Ever Present Past from a couple of albums back.
Be interested to hear what our resident Beatles fans think of the new album...

I’ve been a hardcore McCartney fan for 25 years and it saddens me to say I’m not a fan of this new album. I might be alone in this, but I found it to be a dud. Maybe after more listens I’ll like it more, but I’m just not digging it.

I've listened to the album all the way through like seven times or so, it's grown on me a little bit, but I am still kinda mixed on it. Did you guys get the album? What did you think of it?

Paul's new album reminds me of a 2018 version of Press to Play.
