Gentle -> rawk -> gentle

It starts off with acoustic / flutes, goes mental with an incongruous rocktastic solo, then winds down again in the calming manner with which it started. Other songs that do that...

Re: Monkees Thread

Yes, they've had songs written for them by contemporary writers, including Andy Partridge and Noel Gallagher. They're also recording a few tunes that have been on the 'to do' list since way back when. My interest has been piqued for a while because the album is being produced by Adam Schlesinger, an...

Re: Lenny Kravitz Thread

he's also become the artist behind one of my most hated songs ever, "fly away". Cannot get over what a horrible song that is. I quite like Fly Away. It's a hackneyed chord pattern, same as Cast's Sandstorm and Bohemiam Like You, I think, but it's kind of alright. I always felt like I'd been born in...

Facebook just sent me "you have memories to look back on for today" messages. I can't believe it was a year ago.

Re: beetlebum intro

All this goes way over my head, but I find it really interesting. I guess when it comes to playing the guitar, playing the guitar is just half of it?

Well, three quarters, maybe.

You didn't include that "the devil came and took me, from bar to street to bookie" line. That there is about as good as it gets in my opinion.

I sneaked FoggyJnr into see Grimsby last night, he's 13 and it's a 15 cert film. Ironically he's about just the right age for it in my opinion, I'm way too old.

Anyway, it starts with Parklife.

Re: Hashtags & Blur Fan Club Facebook group

Curiosity got the better of me, so I took a look in and ended up buying a signed vinyl boxset. I hope it's not a fake! A fool and his money... I don't even have a record player. Veikko, I think the thing with hashtags is anyone can make one up, so with an event like the Olympics it stands to reason ...
