Re: Blur profile

I get why everything pre self-titled didn't sell hugely in the US. It wasn't like grunge and was very Anglo-centric. But it's puzzling that Tender wasn't a big hit in America. Gospel soul pop ballad. Stevie Wonder meets the Beatles. It should have been bloody massive. Their US management and PR real...

Re: PM D.Cameron in Alex's home during New Year's Eve

I've known for years that Alex James is a home county, waistcoat wearing toff.

Doesn't mean I respect him any less.

Re: Blur Picture Thread

I've no idea where to post this. I went to a fancy dress party on NYE and the theme was "the 90s" so naturally being a massive Blur fan I made this hand puppet. It went down a storm, hehe. http://s11.postimg.org/z2zv27gwz/milky.jpg I wanted to do a full body costume but I couldn't find a cardboard b...

Re: Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots tour thread

I have to say the interview's not very well researched. "After eight albums, Damon started Gorillaz" Blur only ever did seven albums and when the debut "Gorillaz" was released, they'd only done 6. And Damon's really not that bad in his interview. He's never been the best raconteur in the business an...

Re: Damon rumoured to be working on new Adele album

Plastic Beach sold well in Britian (platinum disc) but it kinda dropped like a stone in America. The album didn't even go gold there (the first two albums sold about 2 million). Albarn working with Adele sounds like a good idea. If they could do a big orchestral ballad along the lines of To The End ...

She's a bell shiner who hasn't released anything anyone cares about for 24 years and even that was shit. And she didn't even write that, Prince did.

Re: Mercury Prize 2014: Damon Albarn shortlisted for solo de

Dunno if anyone else has seen this, but on 29th October, this website posted the sales of the Mercury Music Prize nominations. Everyday Robots has sold 48,000 copies in the UK. 60,000 is a silver disc so it might reach that milestone eventually. http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/barclaycard-m...

I was at the gig, it was brilliant. Third time I'd seen the Specials and that was probably the best of the bunch. Graham was fantastic.

hhmmm, it was early on in the set I think, before the Mali Music songs. Possibly during Kids with Guns or Slow Country.

Re: Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots tour thread

I was at the Sunday gig. first time I'd ever been to the Albert Hall. Loved the venue, really classy! There was one moment of pure comedy when during a song, Damon was trying to climb down from the stage so he could walk through the crowd but the bouncer wouldn't let him through. So people started t...

Looking at the singles chart in 2014, I can't imagine a song like "Music Is My Radar" ever getting into the top 10 now.
