Re: The Worst Of

I don't so much think it's terrible/I appreciate the song but I struggle with tender (live I like it but recorded not so much. Also I don't like having it at the start of 13).

Re: The Worst Of

Crazy beat is probably the worst in my opinion, even the 7" copy I have is the worst cut record I've ever seen (it doesn't even play properly).

blur songs that sound better/you prefer live?

It's probably been done before but oh well. I find that Trimm Trabb sounded better live (around 1999, maybe not now) than recorded, as does tender (I find it hard to endure it recorded but live it's okay). There's probably more but I can't think right now. Is there any you prefer live rather than re...

Potential future blur gigs (with Gorillaz return)?

Does anyone think that anymore blur live shows will be announced for this year / next year? With Gorillaz coming back soon I doubt that blur will tour much/at all next year and any time left this year (mainly September) is when Damon says he's recording new Gorillaz stuff. And does anyone think that...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Being from Birmingham and being vaguely into guitar music it's practically compulsory to like Peace, Swim Deep, Jaws et al but I would echo those comments about the second album being pretty shit. I've seen them loads of times (in fact they are the band I've seen most, six times so far...) and I di...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Highly recommend Bully, seriously... Never listened to Temples before! I've heard nothing but good things though, I'll give em a go. You have excellent taste haha, thank you (you likewise)! Temples are quite good and are soon releasing an album (hopefully meaning a tour). Superfood are also good bu...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Haha it seems like no one on here likes Peace. Wolf Alice are great live as well. Which song did you listen to? Only one I don't recommend is swallowtail, it's awful.

I hope so, I think they definitely have the potential to go somewhere and who knows where they'll end up (as long as they keep making good music I'll be happy).

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

I wish I had the money! Who else do I listen to? Well at the moment in terms of new stuff it's all been Tame Impala, Mac Demarco, Wolf Alice and a fantastic British alternative rock band called Bully. Honestly, the latter's lead singer is one of the best I've heard in a while. On a larger scale, it...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Oh I just thought you meant their music... I agree that it's Peace more than Wolf Alice. I don't like the whole indie labeling and feel like it puts people off the music/makes it seem not as good as it is, but I do really think Wolf Alice are talented and will become 'massive'...

Re: Tame Impala Thread

I really like Tame Impala and admire Kevin Parker but the new record doesn't have the same effect on me as the others do. Just seems like there's something missing from it. Still, I wish I'd got tickets for liverpool later this year...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Peace's first album was alright, new stuff is awful I listen to both of these bands purely for comedy value nowadays I'm biased with Peace and even I found the new album to be a real disappointment but what makes Wolf Alice's music "comedy"? And surely you can still listen to earlier stuff which is...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

Yes. definitely up there with albums of the year - so far definitely the best debut album. I caught their secret set at Glastonbury, as well as seeing them earlier this year. Are you seeing them in September? I have both them and Peace within a week (and possibly Morrissey and Mac Demarco as well). ...

Re: PEACE and Wolf Alice ("indie")

I love them, their two EPs are really good (I prefer blush)/fluffy single is also great. I collect loads of vinyl and their two EPs go for ridiculous prices (£100+)...
