I think the album is lovely. Spaceman is the standout for me; truly surprising and exciting and quite unlike anything they've done before. Pretty obsessed with Go Out, Pyongyang and Ghost Ship too. It's a beautiful piece of work - certainly holds its own in comparison to their gorgeous back catalogu...

I just put my brain into auto-shutdown whenever the prospect of Alex and Clarkson being pals is raised. I assume there is a difference between being civil to a near-neighbour and liking or respecting them, and can't deal with the latter possibility. Can't imagine the rest of Blur being much impresse...

Quick celebration of Alex's bass-playing on this one. His innate playfulness really is the perfect counterbalance to Graham's playing, whether the latter is playing clean riffs or explosive noise. Hello pals. I think it's a very nice song; lovely to hear the boys using tones and palates I thought they were done with - definitely makes me think of The Great Escape, but love the way that Damon seems to be channeling Soft Machine / Kevin Ayers in his melodies, just as Gra's vocal has lovely echo...
